XLRI Jamshedpur Hosts Mritunjay Singh, COO – L&T Technology Services, for Xplore CXO Series

May 16, 2026

XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, recently hosted Mr. Mritunjay Singh, Chief Operating Officer of L&T Technology Services (LTTS), as part of the prestigious Xplore CXO Series for the PGDM (GM) cohort. The session provided students, faculty, and staff with deep insights into the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), leadership, and innovation in today’s rapidly transforming business environment.

With over three decades of leadership experience across industries, Mr. Singh engaged with the participants through an interactive and thought-provoking discussion centered around the strategic implications of AI and the changing nature of work. The session featured six student-led presentations exploring different perspectives on AI, innovation, and organizational transformation, followed by an engaging exchange of ideas with Mr. Singh.

During the interaction, Mr. Singh emphasized the importance of first-principle thinking in the age of AI, encouraging students to challenge inherited assumptions and approach problems from their fundamental truths rather than relying solely on existing frameworks or AI-generated solutions.

Highlighting the importance of adaptability in modern leadership, he noted that the ability to “learn fast, react faster, and unlearn when necessary” has become a critical capability for leaders navigating uncertainty and technological disruption.

Another key theme of the session was parallel innovation, where Mr. Singh underscored that organizations today cannot afford to wait for perfect certainty before acting. Instead, successful enterprises build multiple ideas simultaneously, test rapidly, and iterate continuously to stay ahead in competitive environments.

One of the most impactful takeaways from the session was his observation that:

“AI is not the disruption. How we respond to it is.”

The session resonated strongly with the students of the PGDM (GM) batch, offering them not only strategic and managerial insights but also a practical understanding of how leadership thinking is evolving in the era of digital transformation.

XLRI Jamshedpur expressed its sincere gratitude to Mr. Mritunjay Singh for sharing his time, perspectives, and invaluable industry experience with the XLRI community. The institution also acknowledged the efforts of the Xplore Club in organizing and facilitating the interaction as part of its continuous endeavour to strengthen industry-academia engagement and leadership learning opportunities for students.

The Xplore CXO Series continues to serve as a significant platform for bringing distinguished industry leaders to XLRI, enabling students to engage directly with contemporary business challenges, emerging technologies, and strategic leadership perspectives.
